Genesis Progression and Roadmap

Hi all! This is pretty much going to be a post of what is completed thus far and what we still need to complete for launch, this post also includes a general road map for internal testing and open testing plans.

There maybe a few things that I have missed currently, but we are also doing major code overhauls to the existing project as is (which means we are rewriting, changing, and adding in a lot of back-end code that you guys can't see), so there are also other tasks besides just the creation of these systems. While it may look like we have a lot completed so far it's good to keep in mind that some of these items can take a long time to complete if we run into issues. 

 

Testing Roadmap / Stress Testing

So what we want to do is create an internal testing team, essentially as we progress further into development we want to invite guilds / players to log in on our server and test systems for a few days or a week at a time, so we will be looking for volunteers from the community to do so. We know that this task will take time and some effort from the players who want to be on the internal testing team, so we will be giving some type of reward on server release to these players that wish to do this. At the same time we will be making a process to become a apart of the internal testing team.

Internal testing will be in certain stages as follows (Subject to change)

  • Stage 1: Ability, Combat, Gear testing
  • Stage 2: Housing, Crafting, Trade system, Proficiency testing
  • Stage 3: Mob AI / Boss AI / Dungeon testing
  • Stage 4: Full run through of the game starting at level 1

After internal testing is completed we will begin our open public stress testing before release, where we will release the server multiple times for a day or two at a time and then a full release for a week of stress testing prior to launch. More information for public testing will become available as we reach towards that point in development.
